ICKIE Photography

Mickie was born in Bogota, Colombia to a Peace Corps Alumni Father and a Mother in the high fashion industry. She was raised primarily in Dallas, TX and traveled throughout her childhood. Following in her brothers footsteps she pursued theatre and competed in state and won multiple awards. Mickie found her love for Fine Arts @ the University of North Texas where she received her Bachelor of Visual Arts with a focus on Graphic Design, Photography and Experimental Art.

In 2003 Mickie moved to Hollywood, CA. There she produced, wrote and directed Face Underground's Annual Avant-garde extreme performance art exhibitions. She also worked as a freelance graphic designer with JEMM Magazine part time and in hospitality the other part.  Mickie has helped launch many restaurants and spent over 10 years part time as a top trainer in the lead flagship Hillstone in Santa Monica. 2011 Mickie accepted to be the General Manger of a Martini Lounge in West Hollywood. Then in 2013 she went back full time into the Arts and worked on set with a internationally known, Markus Klinko, fashion photographer. With over 10 years in West Hollywood in 2014 Mickie launched The Misfit Gallery in The Bishop Arts District in Dallas. This included owning, managing all aspects of operations, artist relations, public relations and curating hundreds of art gallery exhibitions. She closed the gallery before she got married and moved with her wife to Sydney, Australia. The Duo there collaborated on Humanity portraits a project of which mickie produced and her wife was the photographer. Mickie also worked as The National Manager / Strategic Partner at ArtSHINE Gallery and as the publicist for black eye gallery.

All of her endeavours are about giving back. All of her projects deal with unity of gender, race, and religion.

Her mission in life is to have a space the celebrates diversity.

Mickie just landed back in West Hollywood and is working with America MArtin as her studio manager part-time and the other part looking to find another gallery to work with.

She has been itching to re-launch her experimental exhibition within the next few months so keep checking back as soon a date will be set.
